Silent Outlooks
Switzerland

My research delves into ideologies pertaining to landscape management, with a special focus on the unique case of Switzerland. The country's limited size leads to a meticulous control of its territory. Within this context, I explore noise reduction walls, ubiquitous structures found throughout Switzerland. While these walls are born from positive political intentions, they paradoxically end up confining and restricting the landscape they seek to protect. On a metaphorical level, they can be viewed as symbols of a nation isolating itself. I employ these walls as a pretext to illustrate my own vision of the Swiss landscape.
